Full Form SAQ, UDAQ in Assembly Question

The Speaker of the Assembly determines whether a question is appropriate for staring or not staring. Within 35 calendar days of the question being published, ministers are required to respond. The Odisha Legislative Assembly accepts the following kinds of inquiries:
Starred questions: If a member wishes to receive an oral response from the house, they may pose a starred question. Questions with a star icon are indicated by an asterisk.

  • SAQ Full Form- Starred Assembly Questions – An asterisk (*) designates a “starred” question—one that a member of the House wants to be answered orally. Further questions may be raised in response to a spoken response to a query. A day can only have 20 questions specified for oral responses.
  • UDAQ Full Form-Un Starred Assembly Questions. Unstarred question: Since this question necessitates a written response, further inquiries are not permitted. A question with fewer than 10 days’ notice is known as a short notice question.
  • Unstarred questions: A member may ask up to five unstarred questions per day.
  • Short notice questions: A member may ask short notice questions.
  • Questions to private members: A member may ask questions to private members.
