GHAR Yojana: Eligibility, How to apply and Loan Details. Full form of GHAR: GHAR- Government Housing Assistance in Rural Areas. Odisha Govt. has launched a GHAR Yojana for rural areas. The scheme will cover all families left out of existing schemes due to stringent eligibility criteria or insufficient budgetary allocation.

Details about GHAR Yojana
Under the plan, a person can get a home loan of up to Rs. 3 lakh, which can be paid back in easy installments over a period of 10 years (minus a one-year grace period). Beneficiaries from the scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, or who have a disability will get up to 40,000 in financial help for every 1 lakh loan they take out to build or expand their home. Other people can get up to 30,000 in financial help.
Over the next two years, the government hopes to cover 400,000 people at a cost of about 2150 crore. “Banks won’t charge the loan recipient any handling fees in order to give them the loan. The state government has waived the registration fee and stamp duty that had to be paid when the title deed was mortgaged. This was done to help the borrowers with their finances even more. An official from the panchayati raj department said, “The fees for getting certified copies of relevant documents from the Sub-Registrar offices, which the bank needs to process loan applications under this scheme, will also be waived.”
Ghar Yojana Loan amount
To be eligible, the recipient family must live in a kutcha house or one pucca room with an RCC roof, have never received more than Rs.70,000 from a government housing programme, and have a monthly income of less than Rs.25,000.
